Square Terminal is not lighting up/responding

If you've successfully paired your Square Terminal with Gamsa.IO Kiosks but it's not lighting up to receive payments, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensure your Square Terminal is charged to at least 35%.
  • Check for software updates. If the terminal hasn’t been used in weeks or months, it may need to update before functioning properly.

To Check for Software Updates:

  1. Swipe Right
  2. Tap ≡ More > Settings > Hardware > General.
  3. Tap About Square Terminal or About Square Register.
  4. From this page, you’ll see your software version.
  5. Tap Check for Update to see if a software update is available.
  6. If a software update is available, Tap Install Now.
  7. Updates can take anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour to complete, depending on which updates are needed.
